Our team members Marius Welzel and Michael Schwarz have developed and released their first software for our research project: MESA (Mosla Error Simulator).
MESA is a web application for the assessment of DNA fragments based on limitations of DNA synthesis, amplification, cloning, sequencing methods, and biological restrictions of host organisms. It can also be used to simulate errors during synthesis, PCR, storage, and sequencing processes.
The software is open access for everyone. Beyond MOSLA, it is primarily interesting for researchers from the fields of Genetic Engineering, Synthetic Biology, Personalized Gene Therapy and Bioinformatics.
